Windows 8 Beta test

So there is a small learning curve with Windows 8. CTRL & ESC to get back to the home screen. There is no start icon/button any longer. The set up is just like the phones with the colored boxes. F3 brings up a side bar menu as well with a host of options. Seems you have to have an Microsoft account to get most of the apps and so forth to work.

I do love the new locked screen and security features to get on my computer. I have 4 options, a password, a pin number, a draw on the screen thingy, and a face recognizer thing. So that is cool. The locked screen is a nice picture you select from ones given or one you set up, with the time and date in large numbers on the screen. You scroll it up and out of the way to reveal the log in screen, which I think is better done.

Installing this was a bit rough though.. mostly because its a beta. took 3 tries to get it right. Just one try took almost 2 hours, and that did not include the 20 min update. The built in weather and map apps are really cool. I also love the built in Photo Viewer and Movie app. Also integrates really nice ly with face book. More on Windows 8 as I experience it.

Yeah, I thought I had a restore point prior to its install, but I guess it did not take, so I am going to have to reinstall windows 7.. damn it.

Windows 8 is horrible.

yeah im with kitsuni on this on from everything ive seen they have gone downhill with this one ill stick to windows 7

Got Steam and winblows re-installed... CSS and SDK also installed.

I want a operating system like on the PS3. I think it would work really nicely for PC and Gaming.
